Our company’s roots date back to 1938, when the founder’s Grandfather built one of the first oceanfront luxury hotels in Miami Beach—The New Yorker. The purview of renowned architect Henry Hohauser, the now famous New Yorker stood as the foremost example of Art Deco architecture. The 1981 bulldozing of The New Yorker in the middle of the night by an unscrupulous developer was the catalyst that created the Historic Preservation Movement — and spawned South Beach.
